Alvin Amante DDS earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Philippines College of Dentistry in 1993. He remained at the University to complete a Dental Externship Training Program through the institution’s Philippine General Hospital. Alvin Amante DDS later continued his path to fulfill his dental advancement at the University of Rochester’s Eastman Institute for Oral Health (EIOH). He completed a Residency of Advanced Education in General Dentistry in two years before moving to Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Amante had the opportunity to volunteer for Medical Teams International in Seattle, a program established to increase access to medical and dental care for underserved patients. Alvin Amante DDS used this opportunity to provide his skills to care for the area’s homeless youth in the organization’s dental mobile van program. His patients, in turn, helped direct him to become a Pediatric Dentist, as he thoroughly enjoyed his work with young people.
Alvin Amante DDS was also involved in international volunteer opportunities for Medical Teams International. With that organization, he traveled to Mexico on three separate occasions as International Dental Team Coordinator. Dr. Amante once again was able to provide critical dental care for those most in need.
His experiences in Seattle and Mexico led him back to EIOH to complete a Residency in Pediatric Dentistry in 2010. Alvin Amante DDS currently serves as a pediatric dentist at Smilez Pediatric Dental Group in Gainesville, Virginia.
